compared to ff8 ff7 is rubbish ff8 is a great game youhav the cards one of the best bits in the game. you have a better main character then ff7 and the bad guy better they have better weapons and moves. the graphics are great and realistic which adds to the story line because you can believe and take it in more realisticly. the story line is brilliant. ff7 has a great story line aswell but i think ff8 beats it in every catorgary ohh yea the music is cool in it as well. FF8!!!!!!!!!!!

ff8 music has nothing on ff7 music still the one winged angel is played at every single one of nobuo uematsu's concerts as the finale ff8 does have a better love story than ff7 but the whole time compression doesnt quite match up to meteor and sephy becoming a god to rule over every soul does it? you think ultimecia is better than the one and only sephiroth too? my god at least sephiroth doesnt try to krush the kowardly seeD's eh she seriously had something wrong with her she wanted to destroy an entire dimension just to get at seeD wheras sephiroth wanted to control one little planet to avenge his mother he had a reason not just a little psychopathic lion on her shoulder saying go on u kno u wanna kill seeD so what if theyve done nothing wrong kill them and the card game it was great but like final fantasy 9 it was only there to make a way for u to pass time in ff7 u had chocobo breeding the whole gold saucer and the weapons to beat u had no time for cards coz u was saving the world from the most bad ass bad guy ever not just strolling around on ur autopiloted ragnarok playing cards with the pathetic card club leaders heh FF7 WILL ALLWAYS BE THE BEST FINAL FANTASY EVER MADE WOOT !!! p.s sry for the lack of punctuation i know one of u will complain but seriously it cant make it that hard to read unless u read out loud to urself which then no there isnt full stops and commas to tell u to breathe

FF7 by far is the better of the two....this is not a contest but an masscre on the side of FF7. I mean FF8 was stupid...do you even remember half of the non-main character's names. Plus the whole everyone knew each other at another time bit for FF8 was just stupid.....it totally wreck a already sinking ship with this game. I mean was there even a very memberable moment in this game....I can name at least twenty for FF7, while I can only think of one for FF8. In my list of FF games, eight was the worse for me..., and to be honest looking back on it...other than the main character there was absolutely nothing I liked about the game. Yeah, I know this is harsh, but I really hated this game...

This is no contest! What's up with this poll? It's gonna obviously be FF7 because it's probably the most liked and popular FF game around! And a good amount of people disliked FF8 (I liked it though, but still). So, my vote's for FF7, I like both, but FF7 is just so much more memorable.

I think ff8 is better than ff7 because ff8's graphics are better and It's more challenging The only challenging thing about FF8 was the last boss's which was quite tensed and the graphics aren't that better well they are but come on the story lin isn't all tht.

I agree, with Rikku....FF7 graphixs may not be as good as 8, but the storyline is just so much better. I mean you fall in love with nearly all the characters...unlike 8, and I am not getting back into why FF7 is better again. Just that I am one those people whom really hates 8...

Yeah, it kinda makes me wonder WHY this thread was made? No offense pplz, but why not compare FF7 to an FF game like...FFX or something? ^.^;; The only thing that was better in FF8 was the graphics...they were really nice, I'm not going to deny that, but graphics are only a small part of what really makes a game. For instance...if you're given a chance to play a game that's legendary...but the graphics aren't that good...you're not going to NOT play it, are you? If I wanted I could go into a giant rant about why FF7 is best, I don't HATE FF8, but I do see the flaws in it, you know? My point...FF7 and FF8 are in totally different categories...why compare them when it's so obvious? o.0;; There are many people who consider FF7 the best FF game and there are many people who consider FF8 the worst or one of the worst FF games. But I'll stop here, to stop from making this go on to be ONE GIANT RANT! O.<

you have made your rant and made me cry i love ff7 but ff8 had a different theme than 7 ff7 was about realising who you were ff8 was about his lonesome past never wanting to be near anyone because his fear of losing them was too much ff7 grachics were good but ff8 were better and realistic giving you a sense that this could be real both games save the planet so noting different there but in ff8 i liked the card battles and the juntion summons and magic and even the draw points were awesome and i loved the fact you could raise your summons and make your weapons in the junk shop

Almost ALL RPG games are about saving the planet...but what happens on the characters WAY to save the world is really the interesting part. Many would disagree with you that FF8's junction system was far too easy to level up characters and that it was annoying because you basically spend 10 or something hours of gameplay JUST drawing magic from enemies. -_-;;; Don't get me wrong, I liked FF8's battle system, I just didn't think it was the best battle system compared to other FFs. I think the plot is what really matters in a game, I want fun gameplay, yeah, but plot is much more important.

yeah ur right ff7 shouldnt even be classed in the same category as ff8 but ff8 isnt as bad as most seem to think i found it really enjoyable to be honest and its still one of my favourite games its just ff7 man that was so unbeleivably good and i just dont think square enix can match that agen unless they just remake it for the ps2 that would be cool but yeah neway ff8 isnt all that bad but compared to ff7 it is just so lame

To be honest, I like FF8 until the whole everyone knows each other from the orphanage thing. After that, I couldn't even look at the game again without getting sick. Sorry, but such a cool game suddenly getting a stupid plotline discover like that is enough to drive anyone off the game.

Sorry, but such a cool game suddenly getting a stupid plotline discover like that is enough to drive anyone off the game. Yeah, I thought that was stupid....<.< I seriously loved FF8 except for that part there.... It was almost like 'and this is here...why?' I mean, why do they HAVE to know each other since they were little and BY DESTINY (XD) MEET EACH OTHER ONCE AGAIN!! I thought that part was waaayyyy too corny. Another fact; there are a lot of people who dislike Rinoa (I like her, but still....<.<; Link- Alrighty then, I'm up for an argument, respond to the last thing I said about the game.

Hmmm....I agree with you on that, but the whole knowing each other from another time in our lives but we all forgot is really cheeze, and has been done before. The looks and the summons for this game was original, but that plot twist made sure that my brother got to keep that game to himself. I mean.....so corny, especially compared to FF7, which had an amazing plotline unlike any other I have seen.

I'm asking what makes you like FF8 better than FF7. I like the game myself (except for that childhood thing. <.<), but I don't think it compares to FF7.
