I just did it (Got lazy, haven't done it in a long while) and I freed up a good amount of hard drive. <_< It could be me, but everything seems faster too. It's all good. TAKE POLL!

De-fragmenting is very important...i think >_< When i did it to my computer, the whole system went alot faster...I havn't done it for a while. It takes like 24 hours or so to de-fragment a comp...i think >_<

ditto. I'm the other loser who doesn't know what this means. done it once but it didnt change anything on my computer....then like a week later i tried it myself and it went through it in like 30 minutes so i knew it wasnt right...w/e though the first one did change anything im not sure though but i think it just cleans your drives out of useless bits of info that are floating around the computer that dont have a purpose what-so-ever....im not completely sure though but at the moment i am going through this process....lets see if it makes teh computer faster anybit lol(i wish and hope it does)

I believe defragmenting is where they move around files? O.o
And if you have a computer that is defragmented frequently, it'll be faster than one that isn't.

De-fraging is when you make your computer get rid of the empty spaces between files making your computer go faster and have a little bit more space.
And for my computer since I have 4 hard drives it takes around...12+ hours. >_< My dad usually does it over night tho...

I'm usually too busy fighting off viruses [wtf happened in the last few years?!] to defragment that often

I do it every time I run Disk Cleanup.

There's really no point in defragmenting THAT often.......unless you've got such a phenomenally fast internet connection that you can download at 5 megs/sec, and are CONSTANTLY re-arranging and deleting huge chunks of your drive.............other than that, it's kind of a waste of electricity
