Lacuna Coil is an Italian gothic metal band formed in Milan, Italy, in 1996. They were formerly known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal Lacuna Coil's music is inspired by gothic imagery, using melodic guitar lines, alternating heavy and light vocals, and a bit of pop influence. According to themselves, the band is influenced by Paradise Lost, Tiamat, Septic Flesh and Type O Negative, among others. The band formed as Sleep of Right in 1994, but soon changed their name to Ethereal, and were signed by Century Media at the end of 1997. Finding that the name Ethereal was already taken, they settled instead on Lacuna Coil (which means empty spiral). The band consisted at that point of co-vocalists Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro with bassist/keyboardist Marco Coti Zelati. The band recorded a self titled EP, released in 1998, and went on tour supporting label-mates Moonspell. The band was accompanied for this tour by guitarist Cristiano Migliore and drummer Cristiano Mozzati. Anyone else like "Lacuna Coil"? I rlly enjoy listening to them

I prefer the dirty jam bands that run around the backwoods of America, playing to equally dirty crowds in the middle of torrential weather, on top of cliffs, or in tiny theatres on the edge of town

I thought it said 'Laguna Coil' and I thought it would be a band around FFVIII's Laguna. Damn. No, I'm not really into that sort of music. I need to add that genre to my 'don't listen to' list, which happens to be short. Gothic Metal...pff....now, Rammstein, SoaD, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Trivium, Megadeth and Dragonforce, THAT's music.
But you're entitled to your opinion of what good music is, but 'Gothic' Metal has never really caught my ears.

I dunno....I've met people before who I thought weren't really intelligent enough to say what good music was.

I'm not saying that Lacuna Coil are crap altogether. Its just that I don't like them, and I think good music is the bands I mentioned. If Lucidus Amo (good name by the way) likes them, then so be it.

Yeah, after all "good" is just an opinion... I don't expect everyone to like them... And I actually hope that some people don't like them as well, (would be kinda weird with EVERYONE liking the same band... diversity, y'know?) Oh yeah, if anyone does like them, they're at Rock City in Nottingham in October (www.rock-city.co.uk), tickets are £17.25 DragonForce are on tour in December as well (Maybe this should be in another thread), December 2nd Rock City again, £14.50

The only major concert that I'm going to do everything humanly possible to go to is one of several Roger Waters concerts in America this september...I haven't decided which one, though.

Yeah, I managed to track down a good Bounty site... Link's now up on there with a picture of him (Thank the picture you put up a while ago ) and about £100,000 on his head... Although, I dunno how I'm gonna pay for it when they do bring his head... I also said that it was £50 alive, so the're most likely gonna kill him for the 100k

Dude! Do you realize how much money you could make if you partnered up with the band, went on tour with them, and offered that kind of reward at each concert for a different person?
The Band would sell out every fricking night, and you could get 20% of the profits........more than covering the meager 100K pounds for each target.
